To mark Safer Internet Day, the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) would like to reinforce your online security. Join the more than 50,000 Belgians who are using the free Safeonweb browser extension, a powerful tool for detecting dangerous websites.
With the number of phishing attacks and fraudulent websites on the increase, the Safeonweb browser extension is a simple and effective way of protecting yourself while you surf. It lets you know how much you can trust the websites you visit.
The system alerts users with a coloured signal, similar to a traffic light, when you arrive at a website:
- Green: the website is safe, so you can browse with complete peace of mind.
- Orange: The owner of this site cannot be verified. You can visit this site, but do not enter any personal data.
- Red: Stop immediately, this site is not safe and may be dangerous.
The Safeonweb browser extension is easy to install and works on popular browsers such as Chrome and Edge. The extension is also expected to be available on Safari and Firefox before the summer.
To install the Safeonweb extension on your Chrome browser, please follow the steps below:
