Together, let's make the Internet safer

On Safer Internet Day, Safeonweb reminds us that cybersecurity is a collective responsibility.

In an increasingly connected world, our daily online actions have an impact that goes far beyond our screens. The good news is that everyone can take action, easily, thanks to Safeonweb tools.

Online fraud, phishing, copied websites... Cybercriminals collaborate and share their techniques. To combat them, solidarity among Internet users is our best defence. Reporting, informing ourselves, warning those around us: this is how we build a safer Internet for everyone.

Reporting a suspicious message: a small gesture, a big impact

Have you received a suspicious email or text message?

A simple reflex can make all the difference: forward it to suspect@safeonweb.be.

No explanation, no complicated steps: just forward the message as is (or a screenshot for text messages). Links and attachments are then automatically analysed.

By reporting a suspicious message, you are protecting the entire community. Even if you continue to receive spam, your action helps prevent others from falling into the trap.

In 2025, you reported nearly 10 million suspicious messages to suspicious@safeonweb.be, which enabled us to automatically redirect less vigilant internet users to a warning page 200 million times. And for all that, we say THANK YOU.

The Safeonweb app: security alerts in your pocket

The Safeonweb app provides real-time information about digital threats in Belgium: phishing campaigns, fake promotions, scams in circulation, etc.

Free and easy to use, it runs in the background and sends you a notification as soon as a new alert is published, along with practical advice on how to respond.

The more people install the app, the more informed and responsive the community becomes.

Feel free to spread the word to your family, friends and colleagues... it's a simple gesture that strengthens collective vigilance.

All alerts are also available in the News section.

The Safeonweb browser extension: a traffic light for the web

Browsing the internet becomes clearer with the Safeonweb browser extension.

Thanks to a shield-shaped icon, it indicates the level of reliability of the sites you visit:

  • 🟢 Green: reliable site, you can browse with peace of mind
  • 🟠 Orange: caution, view the content without entering any personal data
  • 🔴 Red: danger, leave the site immediately

The extension is free, respects your privacy and does not collect any personal data. It is available for several browsers (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, etc.) and can be installed in just a few clicks. Find out how.

Surfing without worries: training to protect yourself

Prevention also requires knowledge.

Safeonweb's ‘Surfing without worries’ modules offer short, accessible training courses on specific topics: phishing, account protection, scams, etc.

Designed for all audiences, they can be taken alone, with family or in a group.

Training not only protects you, but also enables you to become a source of information for those around you. And the good news is that new modules are added regularly.
