Accessibility Statement

The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Law of 19 July 2018 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

This accessibility statement applies to the website https://safeonweb.be/

Level of compliance

After a simplified audit, this website was found partially compliant.

Preparation of accessibility statement

An external accessibility audit was conducted. This audit consisted of a simplified analysis. You can view the report here:

Inaccessible content

According to the simplified audit carried out on 9 September 2025 by the FPS BOSA, certain parts of the website do not comply or only partially comply with accessibility criteria.

The main non-compliances identified concern:

  • Information and relationships (WCAG 1.3.1 – Level A)
Issue: Some content elements are not properly structured or semantically linked, making it harder for screen readers to interpret relationships between items.
  • Insufficient Color Contrast (WCAG 1.4.3 – Level AA)
Issue: On 10 pages, 30 instances were found where text does not have enough contrast against its background, which can make reading difficult for users with visual impairments.
  • Link purpose not clear in context (WCAG 2.4.4 – Level A)
Issue: On 10 pages, links are ambiguous when taken out of context, which can confuse users relying on assistive technologies.
  • Name, role, value (WCAG 4.1.2 – Level A)
Issue: On 11 pages, certain interactive elements (like buttons or form fields) do not properly expose their role or state to assistive technologies.

The CCB plans to gradually correct these issues as part of a continuous improvement plan in order to achieve better compliance with the EN 301 549 standard (see below).

Improvement plan

We plan to improve the accessibility of our websites by implementing several corrective measures:

  • adding accessible names to links and images,
  • improving the visual distinction of links and colour contrasts,
  • checking and correcting ARIA attributes,
  • removing non-decorative content in pseudo-classes.

These measures will bring us closer to full compliance with the EN 301 549 standard and provide a better experience for all users.

The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) is fully aware of the importance of digital accessibility and is committed to continuously improving the user experience.

Although some non-conformities remain, corrective actions are already underway and others are planned in order to gradually move towards full compliance with the EN 301 549 standard.

We remain attentive to user feedback in order to identify any accessibility issues and remedy them as quickly as possible.
