Text messages are used increasingly often to send false links for the purpose of defrauding people. This form of phishing even has a name: smishing, or SMS phishing. Every day we receive new examples of this form of phishing. So always be attentive when you receive a text message.
What to do?
- Do not click on the link in the text message.
- If you have clicked on the link, do not complete the fields and terminate any interaction.
- If you have made a payment, we advise you to contact your bank and report it to the police.
