All connected, all protected — Let's help our loved ones surf safely

Everyone knows someone who feels a little lost online: a child, a neighbour, a parent, a colleague... We all know someone who isn't always comfortable using the internet.

With the ‘Tous connectés, tous protégés’ campaign, DNS Belgium wants to encourage everyone to help those around them to be more confident and cautious online.

The good news is that you don't need to be an IT expert to help. A little kindness, some good advice and sharing your experience can make all the difference.

A campaign full of useful tips and tools

DNS Belgium provides new, easy-to-use resources to raise awareness about online safety:

  • 4 videos featuring testimonials from people who have helped a loved one deal with a risky situation on the Internet.
  • Practical advice on how to offer support without judging: how to start a conversation, what to do in case of online abuse, what rules to establish together, etc.
  • Clear explanations on essential topics: two-factor authentication, password management, digital safes, etc.
  • Three leaflets with simple checklists to prevent online fraud:
    • Recognising a fake message
    • Protecting yourself against friendship fraud
    • Creating secure passwords

These tools can be easily shared — in a school, association, club, community centre, or simply with your loved ones.
