In Belgium, federal and regional elections will be held on 9 June 2024. On the same day, you will also be able to vote for the European Parliament. A few months later, on 13 October 2024, there will also be local and provincial elections.
On this occasion, it is worth reminding a few (cyber)security tips to ensure a favourable climate for democratic debate and the electoral process in general. This is the aim of the publication "Safe Surfing during the electoral campaign - Recommendations for a cybersecure campaign".
This guide is primarily aimed at election candidates and political parties. It contains recommendations on how to improve the security of the most common digital tools. The cybersecurity advice is very general and therefore useful for anyone who wants to improve their online security.
This publication is an initiative of the Belgian State Security Service (VSSE), the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) and the General Intelligence and Security Service (SGRS-ADIV). Each service has contributed its own expertise to the development of this guide.
