We have noticed that phishing messages claiming to come from the Belgian Cyber Security Centre or Safeonweb are being sent. These messages look very convincing and are dangerous.
Here are some recent examples:

Phishing is a form of online fraud that uses fake emails, websites or messages. People with malicious intent try to lure you to their websites in order to obtain your personal and banking details (passwords, PIN codes, credit card numbers, personal data, etc.) by making you believe that these are trustworthy websites.
How can you recognise a message from the CCB?
At the Centre for Cyber Security Belgium (CCB), we take your security very seriously. Unfortunately, fraudsters sometimes try to impersonate official bodies. It is therefore important that you know how to recognise genuine communications from us.
What we never do
We will never ask you to:
- make a payment. All our services are completely free;
- provide your bank details;
- provide your login details or password.
If you receive such a request, it is not a communication from the CCB or Safeonweb. Be vigilant: it is probably an attempt at phishing or fraud.
What we do
You can be sure that communications are from the CCB if:
- we call you on: +32 (0)2 501 05 60;
- you receive an email from an address ending in:
- @ccb.belgium.be
- @safeonweb.be
- you receive a letter or email in which we warn you of a threat or infection, but in which we do not ask for personal or financial information.
- you receive a message via eBox (the official government mailbox).
Are you unsure?
Have you received a suspicious message that appears to come from the CCB or Safeonweb? Report it immediately via info@safeonweb.be. This will help us protect others.
