Safe-deposit account fraud is not new, but banks inform us that there have been many victims recently. Fraudsters usually approach you in two steps: first, they send you a phishing message to steal your personal bank codes. This is how they try to gain access to your account. Then they will call you. They will then pretend to be an employee of your bank and ask you to transfer money to a supposedly new, safe account.
Do not believe the story and do not respond to the question. End the conversation immediately and, if in doubt, get in touch with your contact person at the bank yourself.
