Some shopping apps are becoming increasingly popular with users. Thanks to them, they can buy little odds and ends or other items at very low prices. But as we all know, if it's free (or almost free), you're the product.
So how do these applications really work? Here's the other side of the coin.
You buy an object via an application and the currency of exchange, beyond the few euros spent, is your data. By installing it, you give it access to as much personal data as possible, as well as the ability to access your smartphone.
Our advice:
1. When you install an application, it often asks for access to other data: for example, your photos, contacts or location. Only give your permission if it is necessary and useful for using the application. A shopping application does not need access to your contacts, photos or location.
2. You never take the time to do it, but it's important: always read the terms of use carefully.
3. Delete applications you no longer use. Having unused applications on your phone carries a risk. Even if they are not actively used, these applications can still collect your data.
