Be careful: large numbers of fake messages from parcel delivery companies are circulating

Over the last few days, internet users have been inundated by phishing messages supposedly sent by various parcel delivery companies. As many people are waiting for a parcel to be delivered to their home this time of year, you need to be careful.

The messages we were able to intercept were seemingly sent on behalf of bpost and PostNL and used the logos of both companies.  The messages look real at first glance, but if you take a closer look, you will notice that the sender is not really bpost or PostNL and that the reference number is wrong.

The message asks you to pay the shipping costs.  In most webshops, the shipping costs are included in the price.  Usually, you know in advance whether you will have to pay shipping costs or not.  Make sure to verify this whenever you shop online, so you don't have to hesitate if you receive a suspicious message.

Always forward such messages to [email protected] and then delete them.
